HDH's Spirits-only Auction Largest Ever for American Whiskey

Hart Davis Hart's Auction of Finest & Rarest Spirits realized over $4 million and achieved a 100% sell through rate over 2869 lots, ending the first quarter of 2022 on a very high note. This is an exciting era for bidders and consigners alike at HDH, and the market is holding as strong as we've ever seen for both spirits and wines.

As predicted, this was the largest sale on record for American whiskey, which brought in $3.2 million, 160% to the low estimate for the category. Bourbon was the star performer, featuring in four out of five top lots sold. A decanter set of Old Rip Van Winkle 25 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey earned a remarkable $31,070, setting a new world record well above the high estimate of $18,000.
