Hart Davis Hart’s March Spirits-Only Auction Returns Strong Results Bringing in $2.4M

Hart Davis Hart’s March 26th spirits-only auction brought in a total of $2.4 million, selling 100% of the 1,310 lots offered. The sale attracted strong interest from spirit connoisseurs, bringing 93% of lots to sell above their high estimates. HDH’s leading bidding technology allowed for fierce competition from around the globe.

The March auction featured many unique treasures including rare bottles of Bourbon, Scotch, Japanese Whisky, and more. Several highlights included 1 bottle of 1984 Willett 23yr Family Estate Single Barrel Rye Whiskey, #11, The Velvet Glove, Bottled by The Willett Distillery which sold for $15,535 (est. $3,000-4,500); 1 bottle of NV Old Rip Van Winkle 25 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Decanter, Old Rip Van Winkle Distillery (Buffalo Trace) that garnered $17,925 (est. $8,000-12,000); and 1 bottle of NV Macallan 50 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Anniversary Malt, Distillery Bottled that brought in $83,650 (est. $50,000-75,000).

With the conclusion of the March auction, Hart Davis Hart is looking forward to their April sale, An Auction of Finest & Rarest Wines Featuring A Celebration of Burgundy. The sale will open with an incredible array of Burgundy-focused consignments and conclude with offerings of wines from around the world. The auction will be held on April 23 & 24, with absentee bidding opening on Thursday, April 1 at 9:00am ET. All bidding will take place via HDH’s mobile app or online at auction.hdhwine.com.
